1997 The boy next door : Flowers for you
1997 The boy next door is just my fun and rough small painting series about the boy from my imaginative back in the 90's as I feel quite nostalgia being locked down in the house during the pandemic and I found some old photos from the 90's. Back then when I was a kid, I really like Japanese manga and anime, they have influenced me a lot in many ways like lifestyles, tastes, aesthetic etc. Also my works have a huge influence and inspiration from the manga and anime back in that age.
Most protagonists from manga and anime are light skinned and look western-liked in their appearances, so I want to illustrate a darker shade of the skin since I live in Thailand that it is super super hot. In this piece, I also wanted to practice the contrast in light and shadow using watercolor paint -- quite difficult though!
My plan is to paint him in his daily life scene hiding behind the wall, doing his things or errands. Not sure if the small project will work out or how it will turn out, but I'm sure that it will be fun to do it :3
