HUALAMPAW
Last year, I started to plan to create a series of cat illustration since I am a cat-lover.
Then I had a look through my works and noticed that I already painted some cats in the landscape, Therefore, I designed the composition of the new series that perhaps cats are invading the city and it could be Bangkok since it is my hometown also an interesting, full of diversity and a colorful city to draw.
Hua Lam Phong is an old yet iconic train station hub in the heart of Bangkok where it is connected to CBD, china town and the old town area. My first thought was to draw my ginger cat sitting on it as her orange coat will stand out from the greenish glass on the building and the bright blue sky. About the name, I just play with it - to change from 'Hua Lam Phong' into 'Hua Lam Paw', adding the Paw that is the essential part of a cat.
