OCEAN EXPRESS
One of my close friends is a big fan of aquarium and sea creatures. In 2018, we had a chance to travel together in Lisbon, Portugal where we went to the famous Oceanário de Lisboa.

The aquarium was very amazing, sea creatures are so beautiful and unique. Since then, I was very inspiring to paint something about that. Before the pandemic, I also went to the aquarium in Bangkok with her again. This time, I decided that I have to paint something!

SEALIFE BANGKOK OCEAN WORLD
This is what my first idea looks like in my sketchbook..
My first idea was something about 'Ocean Express' the train that travels underwater.
It would be fun if our daily commuting train can take us to somewhere else, not in the boring city center or the working places, but somewhere like underwater or up in the sky.
(Also, I tried to draw some ocean sun fishes ^-^ )

Then, I developed the rough sketch into more detail sketch. First I drew the picture by HB pencil. Once I think it looks great, I draw the outline by the brown colored pen and erase all the pencil line.

sketch - colored
I chose the color scheme for the illustration, I wanted it to be pastel-like, soft, calm and looks submerging in the ocean. Once I finished the final sketch, I drafted the final version one. I decided to use purplish blue painting line for the outline. Therefore, I drew the blue line before painting or masking the fluid.

Here is the rough process of the painting
After drawing the overall outline, I used masking fluid to mask off the area I don't want to paint it in the first layer like the sea creatures and the train windows. That was very easy for me to paint the big area like the overall underwater ambience. Masking fluid is very helpful for this work!
Here is the completed illustration!

I'm very happy with the result - how it is turned out like this, the color, the content and the composition. I also add a small gimmick in this picture; my dog named 'Lou' who passed away many years ago. I want him to live on forever in my work of illustration :)
Thank you for reading and watching all the process. I put a lot of effort in this project and I hope you enjoy it! Please appreciate the project and feel free to leave a comment and share!
