GINKGO - Pocket Cafe ~ Illustration for Cafe scent hand spray

Hello !

This is the small project of illustration series for my merchandises.

The theme is 'Cafe' as I have made hand sanitizing spray with cafe drinks scent to sell at MaLet's Cafe, the cafe in Bangkok, Thailand.

Firstly, I made a rough sketch to illustrate the ideas of cafe vibes.

Then, I designed to create 3 drink scent :

1.) Earl Grey

2.) Lemon Tea

3.) Orange Espresso

After designing the scent, I started to produce the illustrations.

I also thought about how should I portray all the 3 drinks into pictures.

And here is my summarization

Earl Grey

- Warm, calming and soothing.

- Autumn vibe.

- For the character design, I depicted the girl who is edgy, wise and bookworm. Also I rarely draw a character with glasses therefore I think it is the time to draw it in order to widen the diversity in appearances in my character design tank.

Lemon Tea

- Fresh, bright, vivid and sparkling.

- Summer vibe.

- For the character design, talking about lemon tea, I think about something bright and cheerful so the girl is jolly and outgoing. With the summer tank top showing tattoos on her arms also the purpose I drew it to show that people with tattoos are not scary or dangerous.

Orange Espresso

- Energizing and fresh.

- Working / office vibe.

- In term of the character design, now it is the time that a white man can be protagonist in my illustration lol. I also think about the CBD area in Bangkok, full of expats working in the cafe something like that.

Apart from the human characters, I worked on cat characters as well !

The cat illustrations are on the back of the spray box.

Similarly to the main character design, the cats depict the characteristic of the 3 drinks.
